Kure Navy Curry / Kaigun Curry
Kure Navy Curry served sailors because of health and nutrition during long sea voyages. Each ship created its own recipe for this dish that people passed down through generations. This filling curry is still served in Kure, now for symbolizing its naval past, as thick and rich as ever, along with rice and salad like on the ships.
Kure Cold Noodle
Kure Reimen is one of the well known local foods in Kure. Its noodles are thicker than other kinds of noodles and have a chewy texture. The taste is sour and sweet made from soy sauce and vinegar. In general, while people only eat it only in the summer season, Kure citizens eat Reimen annually.

Kasu Udon
This Kasu Udon can only be enjoyed in Kure. “Kasu” means deep-fried beef tripe which is crispy and soft inside. The savory flavor of the beef fat seeps into the soup without being heavy. It’s a cozy dish loved by locals on a daily basis.
